Presenter: Jane Peterson, Dental hygienist with a special interest in gerodontology. Founder of Knowledge Oral Health Care
Description: This practical webinar will equip attendees with clear strategies and tips for supporting people who are reluctant to participate in mouth care. Drawing on NHS Scotland guidance, we will explore why reluctance occurs and how promoting independence—such as encouraging individuals to brush their own teeth—can reduce distress by restoring a sense of control. Attendees will learn how to use simple cues, improve communication, and adapt their approach when understanding or cooperation is limited.
Monday 23rd February 2-3pm – Supporting People to Live Well with Dementia: Practical Tools and Insights

Description: This interactive webinar will introduce Skills for Care’s new dementia resources designed to assist anyone involved in supporting a person living with dementia.
