MedicAlert encourage everyone living with dementia to create their online Herbert Protocol profile
MedicAlert, a medical ID charity, is encouraging everyone living with dementia to complete an online Herbert Protocol profile – for free – as part of their World Alzheimer’s Month campaign highlighting the importance of this initiative.
The Herbert Protocol is a form that holds important information about a person living with dementia, including a description of what they look like, a recent photo, any medicine they take, important phone numbers to call and places from their past where they find comfort and familiarity.
MedicAlert UK is the only medical ID charity in the UK that includes a full digital medical record with the ability to store important medical documents and advanced directives, now including the Herbert Protocol form. MedicAlert works directly with several police forces and paramedic groups to provide direct access to this information in an emergency.
