6D Dementia®

6D Dementia® is a psychologically informed digital workforce development programme that translates dementia research and clinical expertise into practical approaches for everyday care and support.
It is built around a straightforward framework: understanding what’s happening for a person with dementia, exploring why it may be happening, and identifying what can be done to help. This equips health and social care professionals to better understand and respond to distress, changes in behaviour and individual needs.
The programme provides flexible digital learning for NHS organisations, care homes, domiciliary care providers, local authorities, the voluntary sector, and family carers. For organisations, training is supported by implementation and evaluation approaches designed to embed learning and demonstrate impact, with an independent health economic model to explore costs, benefits and return on investment.
6D Dementia is CPD accredited and independently evaluated in partnership with Ulster University.
Founded by Dr Frances Duffy, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Fellow, 6D Dementia was created to close the gap between what we know works in dementia care and what actually happens in practice. Frances brings 30+ years’ NHS experience, including 15+ years leading specialist dementia services, and has co-authored research and best-practice guidance for the British Psychological Society and Public Health Agency.
