About

Summary

The needs of those living with dementia and their families remain a significant challenge, and have increased exponentially, partly in response to financial pressures. Social care provision already struggles to meet the needs of those living with dementia. Dementia care pre and post-diagnosis poses unprecedented challenges to families and people with dementia, who often face complex needs and difficulty accessing timely and suitable advice and support. The Dementia UK Admiral Nurse helpline offers access to free, tailored specialist advice and support and is accessible seven days per week, 364 days per year.
This presentation represents the achievements from a quality improvement project led by nurses over a 12 month period and evidences the continued value of a unique helpline model
