Billy Ash Sakula (Bih-lee Ash Sah-koo-luh, they / them) is a Deptford based artist and animator. They make collaborative films that link different generations and communities; creating space for participant led chaotic fertility and collective brilliance. Billy is interested in capturing instances of joy, flashes of excitement and glimpses of practical utopias; creating magical spaces in which social norms can be broken. They seek through their work to be an active practitioner of radical hope. Billy has worked with a wide range of groups and communities including Meet Me at the Albany, Camden Arts Centre, House of Illustration, Goldsmiths, John Chilton SEND School, Queer Youth Art Collective, Project Indigo, Ministry of Stories and the Watts Gallery.
Priyanka Chauhan (Pree-yan-kah Chor-han, she/ her) is one of Magic Me’s Project Managers. Over the last ten years she has run creative community projects for Jacksons Lane Theatre, Union Chapel and East London Cares. Priyanka has trained in the classical Indian dance form, Kathak, and has run many inclusive dance projects with Rambert and Akademi for a mix of needs and communities. She continues to deliver dance for the community independently alongside her creative project management at Magic Me, continuously championing the value of the arts in community through all her work.

Summary
Magic Me is a leading arts charity, specialising in work that brings older and younger people together. For over 35 years our imaginative and creative work in care homes and the community have widened access to the arts and improved the quality of daily life for individuals, particularly those living with a dementia. Our projects and research aim to challenge how society thinks about ageing and creativity.
Spark is a Magic Me project led and developed by artists Georgia Akbar and Billy Ash Sakula.
The Spark approach invites care-home residents and staff to take part in playful, multi-sensory activities that create moments of connection. These shared experiences are designed to support well-being through creativity and respect the age and individuality of everyone involved.
