Alzheimer’s disease is characterised by structures in the brain known as tangles and plaques, which have a strange beauty under the microscope. Photographer Sharon Bailey and writer Julia darling have captured the beauty in the real lives of people with the disease in a new book, tangles and Starbursts. Here we present a selection.
