Best Inclusive Dementia Care in our Diverse Society (sponsored by Centre for Applied and Inclusive Health Research at the University of Wolverhampton)

This award is for a service which succeeds in providing inclusive dementia care that recognises the diverse needs of people from diverse communities, and which either provides tailored support to a particular disadvantaged community or strives to make a general service more responsive to the needs of individuals who belong to disadvantaged communities, particularly members of groups protected by the Equality Act 2010.

This award recognises the vital role of community providers in supporting individuals to live their best lives with dementia. The judges evaluated evidence of co-production in the design and delivery of community-based approaches engaging people living with dementia in meaningful occupation, enrichment, connection and enjoyment.

This award is made to a person or team demonstrating outstanding person-centred practice using arts-inspired creative approaches to improve the lived experience of people affected by dementia. Nominees were required to provide evidence of meaningful engagement of people living with dementia in arts-based activities and positive outcomes enhancing quality of life.
