Who cares about care assistant work?

The role and world of the care assistant has been largely neglected by research; but if we are to explore psychosocial interventions which will enable person-centred care to occur, it is vital that we step back, explore and attempt to understand the reality of their work as they see it, write Ian Jacques and Anthea Innes.
