Eve’s Spring Gift
Entry ID: 16991
Person living with dementia
This is a work by Eveline Flint. She is a residents at Bryn Seiont Newydd dementia care home in Caernarfon, North Wales - which is part of Pendine Park Care.
Eve's painting was done as part of an intergenerational art project with local primary school children, where the children and a few residents were involved in a still life art session. Eve has always been very artistic and has created marvelous artwork over the years. It is good that these skills are preserved in Eve despite her dementia.
I work in Bryn Seiont Newydd as an Enrichment Co-ordinator and as I lead these intergenerational art sessions and as Eve does not have an email address, I am entering this artwork on her behalf. (Eve would be available to talk over the phone or through zoom on her artwork if needed.)

Unpaid/family carer
David is a member of our peer support Dementia group in Bromley. He was diagnosed with Dementia nearly 2 years ago, and has spent his time since advocating for Dementia awareness by speaking at NHS conferences, being on interview panels, co-creating leaflets and writing in our blog. As a thank you to our team, he made us this beautiful painting of our hospital, and of course documented the process and how his dementia affected this for our blog!
Fading to White
Entry ID: 17029
Unpaid/family carer
The painting symbolizes the final stage of dementia, where the figure is obscured, representing the loss of verbal and physical abilities. The muted background and blank flowers reflect fading memory and identity. Yet, their form hints at the enduring essence of the person, despite profound loss and sadness.
