Summary
Falls are common and costly for people living with Dementia (PLwD). Keep On Keep Up-LITE (KOKU-LITE) is a dementia-friendly accessible version of KOKU, an NHS approved strength and balance exercise programme specifically designed WITH older people FOR older people. This trial aimed to assess the feasibility and acceptability of the KOKU-LITE programme in community dwelling people living with dementia aged ≥55 years. We randomised 52/60 participants thus far to either intervention group (KOKU-LITE programme + dementia falls prevention leaflet) or control group (dementia falls prevention leaflet) for 6 weeks. Preliminary results (completion rates for baseline (52/60) participants and follow-ups (48/60 completed to date) and interviews (n=10)) indicate that the KOKU-LITE programme is well-received by people living with dementia, emphasising its feasibility and acceptability.
