About

Summary

“If Not Now, When?” is an award-winning short film starring BAFTA-winner Kate Dickie, Jamie Sives, and David Carlyle, exploring the emotional and practical realities of living with young onset dementia. This powerful and moving story fosters awareness, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the condition. YPWD (Younger People With Dementia) is proud to have collaborated with the filmmakers and now proposes using this film as a central tool in a workshop to raise awareness and reduce stigma around young onset dementia. Through a screening and interactive Q&A session, we aim to amplify the voices of those living with the condition, promote earlier diagnosis, encourage community understanding, and highlight the urgent need to address identified gaps in care and support. By sharing this story, we offer a space where individuals feel seen and understood—supporting them to live well, with dignity, within their communities for longer. A story can connect, educate, and inspire change.
