Summary
Title: “Liv”: Co-Creating a Dementia-Positive AI – Ethics, Voice and Technology
This interactive workshop will explore the development of Liv, a photorealistic AI avatar built using over 3,000 Dementia Diaries and shaped by people living with dementia. Designed to offer post-diagnostic support with empathy and encouragement, Liv demonstrates how lived experience can directly inform technological innovation. The session includes a short demonstration, reflections from our panel of co-designers with dementia, and discussion with our tech partners. Together, we’ll explore the ethical challenges around AI, voice, consent and representation — and invite participants into a lively Q&A and shared discussion on how technology can genuinely empower.
