In this presentation we will talk about the DYNAMIC study which aimed to identify ways to improve social care provision for people with young-onset dementia and their supporters. We explored current social care practice by gathering accounts from people with young onset dementia and supporters and surveying social care staff. We presented these findings to stakeholders, via a consultation workshop, to discuss priority areas for improvement. The two areas identified were raising awareness in social care staff of young-onset dementia and helping people with young-onset dementia and their supporters to manage the financial impact. Our next steps were to conduct a review of existing evidence and interview social care practitioners to gather examples of good practice in these two areas. We used this information to co-produce resources on raising awareness of social care staff of young onset dementia and supporting people to manage the financial impact of young-onset dementia.
