Validating your OpenAthens Login

If you have reached this page, it is because we have asked you to validate your OpenAthens configuration on our website.

In order to validate your configuration, please carry out the following steps:

Go to your Account page at https://journalofdementiacare.co.uk/community-account and select ‘Log in with your Organisation’.

  • If you can’t see the button, you are probably already logged in
  • If you can see the button but can’t find your organisation, you probably use a different service than OpenAthens (e.g. Shibboleth) – we currently only support OpenAthens.

Once you have logged in, look at your Username on your Account page. If it is very long and apparently random, you are logged in using OpenAthens. If not, you may need to log out and back in using OpenAthens.

Scroll further down and look under ‘My Plans‘.

  • If you see ‘Federated Subscriber’ you are successfully logged in with OpenAthens and can access the Journal
  • If you see ‘Free Registration’, we need to make a configuration change, and we need your (long and apparently random) username in order to do so. Please send it to us, by return of the email that started this process.
