Call to honour the FTD Brothers as they complete 33 marathons in 33 days

A campaign to recognise the FTD Brothers, Jordan and Cian Adams, through the honours system has been launched by their MP, Chris Bloore, following the brothers completing their latest challenge – 33 marathons in 33 days.

Jordan and Cian’s mum was diagnosed with young onset frontotemporal dementia (FTD) at 47 and died aged 52. Since undergoing genetic testing, Jordan and Cian have both learnt that they carry a rare inherited gene that means they will develop FTD in their lifetime, most likely becoming symptomatic in their early 40s and losing their lives within 10 years of diagnosis. This has motivated both brothers to campaign to raise awareness of dementia and fundraise for dementia research. So far the FTD Brothers have raised over £2.4 million.

Cian says:

“You don’t really have an option; you play the cards you’re dealt as best you can and try and find some solace and some hope and some enjoyment within that life and I think we’ve done that.”
