June’s Wish begins granting meaningful wishes for people living with dementia

June’s Wish, a charity supporting people living with advancing dementia to fulfil lifelong dreams or recreate memories, has begun granting wishes.

June’s Wish was inspired by founder Jules Minter’s mother, June, who lived with Lewy body dementia. Two weeks before she died, she fulfilled her lifelong love of flying with one final flight.

Working closely with families, carers and healthcare professionals, the charity creates personalised experiences that celebrate the person behind the diagnosis. Wishes might include attending a concert or football match (perhaps even meeting the players), enjoying a day at the seaside, sharing a romantic dinner or revisiting a place filled with memories.

June’s Wish is initially accepting referrals from Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire, with the ambition of expanding to all of England and Wales as the charity grows.

Families, carers and healthcare professionals can submit a referral via the Request a Wish page here: https://juneswish.org.uk/request-a-wish/
