Alzheimer’s Research UK announce details of funding schemes to support researchers
Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) has introduced a new Programme Award and refreshed their existing Pilot and Project Awards to provide more targeted support for dementia researchers.
These grant schemes aim to help researchers develop ideas, build evidence, establish collaborations and progress towards larger programmes of research. They are categorised as follows:
- The Programme Award is designed to support research collaborations across multiple disciplines, technologies and areas of expertise.
- The Pilot Award, for future research leaders, is designed to help researchers who want to test new concepts, generate preliminary data, establish collaborations and explore innovative approaches before applying for more funding.
- The Project Award, previously the Major Project grant, provides up to £500,000 over four years for focused, hypothesis-driven projects that address clearly defined questions in dementia research.
