APPG on Tackling Loneliness and Connected Communities announce programme of work for inquiry
The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Tackling Loneliness and Connected Communities has published information about the inquiry it will undertake during 2026.
The APPG will explore:
- What works in preventing and reducing loneliness
- For whom and why certain approaches are effective
- Where policy and practice gaps remain across sectors
- How systems can work better together
- How intergenerational connection can contribute to long-term prevention
This work will focus on six key areas:
- Health and Wellbeing
- Housing and the Built Environment
- Workforce and Employment
- Culture and Community
- Youth and Education
- Social Care
The APPG are planning roundtables, evidence sessions, parliamentary events and community-based engagement. The call for evidence begins in April 2026 and there are Sector Sub-Group meetings from March to November 2026.
