Care Innovation Challenge

Bright ideas have been much in evidence in the Care Innovation Challenge, revived after a pause during Covid-19 and now overseen by the National Care Forum.

Entrants gathered for a creative weekend in Coventry University’s Technopark in early July and five teams were selected to present their innovations at the Care Show in October.  Ideas generated and trialled over the weekend involved digital transformation, cashless solutions to independent living, and prevention of falls and fractures among older people.

Each of the semi-finalists received mentoring and £500 per team, while the eventual winners will receive £1,000, media coverage and further mentoring to put their idea into practice.

“There were so many great innovative approaches to social care being discussed, it was a tough decision to pick the five teams to go through to the final at the Care Show,” said NCF CEO Professor Vic Rayner.
