A public engagement event on Monday 26 June in London will be an evening of South Asian music and dance as a response to issues of memory and identity. Naaheed Mukadam, Alzheimer’s Society senior research fellow at UCL, worked with dance and music artists to put together the show in order to combat stigma around memory problems in this community. “I have seen how memory loss can start to erode away at a person’s identity and impact relationships with those around them,” said Dr Mukadam. “Even when spoken language has been lost, the language of music can still allow communication and connection.” For more information and tickets, go to www.ucl.ac.uk/event-ticketing/app/?ev=22281
