End of life guidance

Palliative and End of Life Care Statutory Guidance has been published by NHS England for new integrated care boards (ICBs).  It sets out the duties of ICBs, highlighting that palliative care should be a multi-agency activity and that it should be provided by the right professional at the right time.  “No single provider can provide for all needs and people will require access to a wide variety of non-specialist palliative care delivered by primary, community, acute and urgent care services,” it says.
