ILC publish ‘Living well with dementia through care and support: it’s not rocket science’
The International Longevity Centre (ILC) has published a short report entitled, ‘Living well with dementia through care and support: it’s not rocket science’.
The report, supported by the Alzheimer’s Society and the Peter Sowerby Foundation, looks at the lack of support for people living with dementia and argues that better post-diagnostic support, investment in prevention and a move to community-based care could help people to live better for longer while easing pressure on unpaid carers and professional services.
Included in the report is a case study of the PriDem model which is described as, ‘A practical, evidence-informed approach that integrates primary care, personal care planning, and community-based support’.
