Invitation to contribute to a book on the language of mental health

Harmless, an organisation who work to address and overcome issues related to self-harm and suicide, are looking for contributors to a book called ‘Words That Harm, Words That Heal: The Language of Mental Health’.

They describe the book as, “A compassionate exploration of how language is used in today’s society regarding mental health and suicide, and the profound impact words can have on individuals and communities.”

Harmless want the book to be a collaborative project that includes input from experts, professionals and people with lived experience of mental health challenges and suicidal thoughts. They are keen to hear from people who have been touched by mental health challenges to contribute to this book.

If you’ve struggled personally, supported a loved one, or have reflections to share about the language of mental health, you can find out more and download a submission form here: https://harmless.org.uk/2024/11/21/words-matter-announcing-words-that-harm-words-that-heal/
