‘Jon Snow: A last big story’ airs

‘Jon Snow: A Last Big Story’ has been aired by Channel 4.

The programme documents broadcaster Jon Snow’s diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease, which he received in 2023 having retired from his role as a news anchor in 2021.

‘Jon Snow: A Last Big Story’ includes details about Jon’s life and career, reflections from his wife – neuroscientist Dr Precious Lunga – and features a trip to Zambia where Jon learns about a mining disaster and seeks to uncover the truth about it.

In the documentary, Jon says:

“At the beginning I wanted to hide it, there’s so much prejudice. Any sort of hint of mental decay, you’re sort of dead. There are moments when it pops up but it’s not an all-day everyday condition, and that’s what I cling onto.”

Jon concludes:

“You’ve got to go on, and that’s what I am trying to do.”
