A suite of resources has been created as part of a project entitled: Living alone with dementia – managing without informal support to contact and navigate services.
The project, which was funded by a grant from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), ran from April 2022 to November 2023. It was a collaboration between Sheffield Hallam University, University College London (NIHR Applied Research Collaboration North Thames), Innovations in Dementia and Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group.
The resources that have been published are:
- A guide for people who are living alone with dementia
- A general guide for neighbours and acquaintances of people living alone with dementia about how they can best support the person
- Important questions about areas that need to be addressed so people can live on their own with dementia successfully
- A guide for commissioners
- A guide for individuals working with people with dementia.
