New resources available to support care homes with person-centred care planning

New resources to support person-centred care planning for older adults in care homes are now available.

Created with input from over 100 health and social care professionals and residents’ family and friends, the resources are intended to make care planning more meaningful, effective, and inclusive. They have been designed to support everyone involved in care planning—from senior staff to care assistants—and to encourage collaboration with residents and their families and friends.

The resources are as follows:

The resources are based on research that was published in the International Journal of Care and Caring, which you can read here: https://bristoluniversitypressdigital.com/view/journals/ijcc/aop/article-10.1332-23978821Y2024D000000092/article-10.1332-23978821Y2024D000000092.xml

The creation of these resources was funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) with backing from the Applied Research Collaborations (ARCs) ARC Kent, Surrey and Sussex, ARC North Thames, ARC Oxford and ARC Thames Valley, and ARC West. They were developed collaboratively with the University of Bristol, University of Kent, University of Liverpool, London School of Economics, and the University of Oxford.
