Ruling on hospital discharges

A blog by Age UK charity director Caroline Abrahams on the charity’s website provides a useful summary of the High Court’s recent ruling on the government’s policy of discharging older people from hospitals into care homes at the outset of Covid-19.  The webpage, titled: The court decision on discharges into care homes, explains that while the discharges were deemed lawful, the failure to take into account the risk of asymptomatic transmission was still a breach of the government’s common law duty.
