Scottish GP’s participating in Alzheimer’s blood test study

Over 50 GP practices in central and northern Scotland are taking part in the BriDGe (Bringing Alzheimer’s Disease Biomarkers to General Practice) study being led by Scottish Brain Sciences using a Roche Diagnostics blood test.

Up to 500 people who are potentially developing Alzheimer’s disease are expected to be referred for the BriDGe study blood test which works by measuring levels of tau proteins which are linked to Alzheimer’s disease.
