Training programme being developed to support future blood biomarker testing
A training programme for clinicians to support future blood biomarker testing is being developed by Dr Jemma Hazan, an Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) Clinical Research Training Fellow.
The programme, known as DART-CU (Decision-Support for Alzheimer’s Blood Biomarker Result Tool for Clinical Use), is intended to help clinicians understand when blood biomarker tests may be appropriate, how to interpret the results and how to communicate them clearly and sensitively to patients.
DART-CU has been co-designed with clinicians and people with lived experience and includes practical decision-making tools to support clinical judgement, with an emphasis that blood biomarkers should be used to support decision-making rather than as standalone diagnostic tests.
The DART-CU e-learning is available (for free) here: https://share.articulate.com/QQWywioIswaEla5yiXaoz
