New TLAP Language Hub and Jargon Buster live

Think Local, Act Personal (TLAP) has launched their new Language Hub and Jargon Buster.

These resources explore the impact of language, challenge jargon, and promote the use of more human language in care and support. They are an update on what TLAP previously offered in relation to language and jargon and include:

  • An updated Jargon Buster, defining and challenging common terms.
  • Videos with reflections from people on language that does and doesn’t work.
  • A guide for communicating about mental health, with more coming soon on other key topics like neurodiversity and disability.
  • Blogs exploring the impact of language in care and support.

TLAP say:

“The language we use in care and support shapes attitudes, influences behaviours and impacts lives. We believe that much of the language used in care and support tells an outdated story and we’re committed to shifting this narrative.”
