Our Dementia Choir and SpudBros collaborate on ‘Brighter than the night’ Christmas song
A Christmas song entitled ‘Brighter than the night’ has been released by Vicky McClure’s Our Dementia Choir and SpudBros.
Jacob and Harley Nelson (SpudBros) became a viral sensation on TikTok showcasing their business selling jacket potatoes from an old tram carriage in Preston, Lancashire.
Jacob and Harley’s grandmother lives with dementia and they explain the inspiration for the song as follows:
“This all began when a couple visited the tram, and the husband told us his wife was living with dementia. The love between them really stayed with us. Soon after, we met Vicky McClure and discovered Our Dementia Choir, and it felt like everything connected. We’ve recorded this Christmas single with the choir at Metropolis Studios to support families facing dementia. It’s about love, community and finding joy in the little things.”
SpudBros team member Huw Roberts performs the song alongside Our Dementia Choir. You can watch the official video for ‘Brighter than the night’ here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6kajtaCGoY
