Palliative care resource

Palliative care charity Marie Curie has produced a new resource for local health and social care boards to help with the legal requirement to provide palliative care to those who need it across England.  Called the ICB Inspire Resource, aimed at NHS and local authority integrated care boards, it will support ICBs in their duty to commission good palliative care and includes examples of best practice.  Under the Health and Social Care Act 2022, they must arrange for high quality, safe services tailored to the needs of individuals.  “With so many pressing demands on NHS resources and workforce delivering on the Health and Social Care Act will not be easy,” said Martin Marshall, chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners, which is one of more than 20 partner organisations behind the resource.  “But I hope this resource will provide food for thought, encouragement and help.”
