Paper published looking at the prevalence of living alone with dementia

Springer Nature Link has published a paper entitled, ‘Prevalence of living alone with dementia and other progressive neurological conditions: findings from primary care data in England’.

This research found that in 2023 there were 205,507 people with dementia in the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) database, with 40% living alone. Differences were noted relating to factors including sex, ethnicity and region, with researchers concluding that the proportion of people living alone with dementia has increased since 2009.
