Participants wanted for research into accessing social care when a person has a rarer type of dementia
Kiran Lalwani from the University of Liverpool is conducting research into the experiences of unpaid carers who are trying to access UK social care services for a person with a rarer type of dementia.
For this study, social care services are defined as: care homes, day care, respite or home care, and a rarer type of dementia is defined as: any non-Alzheimer’s Disease dementias (at any age of dementia) such as Lewy body dementia, primary progressive aphasia or frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
To participate you need to be aged 18 or older and caring for someone with a rarer dementia in an unpaid capacity for at least 10 hours a week or have done so within the past two years. You’ll then be asked to complete a 45–60-minute online interview about your experiences.
To find out more and/or register to participate, please email Kiran: k.lalwani@liverpool.ac.uk. Kiran is recruiting for this study until the end of June 2026.
