Participants wanted for discussion group on personal and selfcare for people living with dementia
The Association for Dementia Studies at the University of Worcester are seeking people living with dementia to take part in a discussion group on personal and selfcare.
The discussion group is to inform a chapter in a book that is being written by Professor Dawn Brooker, Tracey Shorthouse and Jennifer Bray. The book chapter is about the experiences of people living with dementia with personal care / selfcare, such as washing, dressing, eating, drinking and using the toilet.
An online survey has already been shared (that we reported on here: https://journalofdementiacare.co.uk/survey-experiences-of-personal-care-from-people-living-with-dementia) and this discussion group will see the findings from the survey shared to generate a discussion about the issues raised.
The discussion group will take place on Tuesday 14th July, 10.30am on Teams and is open to all people living with dementia who want to take part. Please email Jen j.bray@worc.ac.uk or Dawn dawn.brooker@worc.ac.ukto book your place.
Jen/Dawn are also happy to have a 1-1 discussion if preferred to a group discussion.
