Report looks at the challenges of supporting people who lack awareness of their dementia
A report has been published by NIHR Policy Research Unit Dementia and Neurodegeneration University of Exeter entitled ‘Managing care challenges related to lack of awareness in the person with dementia: Report of a stakeholder consultation’.
Written by Dr Catherine Alexander, the report examines challenges when a person with dementia is being cared for at home and has a lack of awareness of their dementia. It looks at the problems that can occur, how these might be handled and provides strategies, suggestions and ideas for what might help. The report was informed by the views and experiences of people with personal and professional expertise in dementia.
