TIDE (Together in Dementia Everyday) are looking for current and former carers who want to get involved in research.
TIDE has recruited a Research Associate, Margaret Flynn, to lead their input into the SPIINNET dementia programme which will be launched on 4 November 2024. SPINNET is a research network led by Exeter University and involving fifteen universities and four voluntary sector organisations, including TIDE. SPINNET’s aim is to promote and disseminate dementia research and encourage new researchers into the field, with a specific focus on prevention, diagnosis and post-diagnostic support.
Margaret will also help to co-ordinate TIDE’s other research activities, which includes involvement in TIMES (research being led by Exeter University that is focused on sleep disturbances for people with dementia) and CareCoach, which is testing a Dutch education programme for unpaid carers to see it if could work in the UK.
TIDE has a growing group of unpaid carers who want to be involved in research but more unpaid carers are always welcome into this group. If you would like to register your interest, please email carers@tidecarers.org.uk
