Care homes search website Lottie has crunched the ratings data to draw up a list of top locations for older people’s quality of life. Based on an analysis of care and health factors in major cities, Durham came out top followed by Swindon and Doncaster. According to Chris Donnelly, co-founder and CEO of lottie.org, Durham scored 8.79 out of 10 for all the factors within the study, including an average score of 9.39 out of 10 for its 19 care homes. Donnelly gives five top tips for caring for yourself and loved ones: maintaining connection, engaging in hobbies, intergenerational mixing, eating a healthy diet, and plenty of sleep.
