Young Dementia Network want to hear from people inspired by dementia activists

The Young Dementia Network is showcasing activism in the dementia community and would like to hear from anyone who, inspired by the dementia activism of others, has done something to help people affected by young onset dementia.

Responses are welcome from people living with dementia or those with experience of caring for someone with dementia in a personal or professional capacity.

Young Dementia UK say:

“Wendy Mitchell was a well-known activist. Following her young onset Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis aged 58, she spent ten years campaigning to raise awareness of dementia. She was an inspiration to many before her death in February 2024 and has left a lasting legacy.

Dementia activists such as Wendy inspire others to share their stories, set up peer support groups, give talks to raise awareness and much more. We want to showcase your stories on our social media channels, website and newsletter and show how we can all have a positive impact, locally or nationally.”
