Herbert Protocol launches on the Isle of Man

Isle of Man charity, Forget Me Not, in collaboration with the Isle of Man Constabulary has brought the Herbert Protocol to the Isle of Man.

People on the island with dementia – which is estimated to be 1,800 individuals – can obtain a wristband or fob with a QR code. If the person is lost, the QR code can be scanned via an app and the person’s name, along with information about them and their next of kin, is provided.

The initiative, funded by Forget Me Not, is providing 1,000 wristbands and 1,000 fobs. The Isle of Man Constabulary website has the form to complete here: https://iompolice.im/media/1865/herbert-protocol-form.pdf while the fobs and wristbands are provided by Forget Me Not https://www.forgetmenot.org.im, police and from the island’s Admiral Nurses.
