Fiona Phillips memoir ‘Remember When’ published
Former broadcaster Fiona Phillips has released a memoir entitled ‘Remember When’, documenting her experiences of living with young-onset Alzheimer’s disease.
Fiona announced her diagnosis in July 2023, having been diagnosed the previous year at the age of 61. Prior to this she had cared for both of her parents with Alzheimer’s disease and been an advocate and campaigner around issues relating to dementia.
Fiona says of ‘Remember When’:
“I hope this book can show people a little about what it is like to live with Alzheimer’s. How frightening and confusing it is. But also how much life can still bring joy and be valued. And if you or someone you love is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s, I hope this book brings you some comfort. I want you to know, you are not alone.”
‘Remember When’ is published by Pan MacMillian, and a ghostwriter (Alison Phillips) and Fiona’s husband (Martin Frizell) contributed to the book due to the progression of Fiona’s Alzheimer’s during the three-year writing process.
