Anchor, the not-for-profit housing and care provider, has shown its commitment to older workers by signing up to the Age-friendly Employer Pledge. Part of the Centre for Ageing Better’s (CAB) campaign to make more workplaces age-friendly, the pledge supports businesses to improve conditions for older workers. Anchor says it will work with CAB to strengthen recruitment and retention of the over-50s and build its credentials as an inclusive employer. Dr Carole Easton, chief executive at the Centre for Ageing Better, said: “The current labour shortage has been called the most urgent problem facing the UK economy with its impact driving up prices, wages and inflation. Workers in their 50s and 60s are a key, but currently overlooked, solution to resolving the UK’s employment crisis.”
