Alzheimer Scotland publish report on the future of long-term care

Alzheimer Scotland’s Commission on the Future of Long-Term Care in Scotland has published a report with 16 key recommendations that they hope will be addressed as a central Scottish Government priority.

The Commission, led by former First Minister of Scotland and Alzheimer Scotland Ambassador Henry McLeish, has identified key challenges in the planning and commissioning of long-term care in Scotland, and a lack of clear national or local plans to address the current and future needs of people with dementia, especially people with advanced dementia.
