‘Everyday TEC’ resources launched to help families and professionals navigate technology enabled care

The Tech Services Association (TSA) has launched ‘Everyday TEC’, a campaign to help individuals, families and professionals to understand technology enabled care better and navigate the options.

The ‘Everyday TEC’ campaign is TSA’s response to a study Social Policy Researcher, Dr Sarah Alden, conducted to find out what people want from technology. You can read the study here: https://tec-action.org.uk/research-implementing-technology-to-help-people-live-really-good-lives/

Dr Alden found a lack of understanding and awareness about technology amongst people drawing on care, families and unpaid carers. With this in mind, the ‘Everyday TEC’ campaign is described as providing, ‘The everyday help we need to enjoy the lives we want’, with the core messages: TEC keeps people: In Control, In Touch, Safe and Well.

Alyson Scurfield, Chief Executive of TSA, says:

“We want to change the narrative around technology enabled care and show how our sector supports people to thrive, not just survive. This campaign provides messaging and visuals that clearly communicate the difference TEC makes to people’s wellbeing, confidence and independence – as well as their health and safety – offering families and unpaid carers reassurance and peace of mind. I can’t wait to see our sector using it!”
