Examples of reading for people living with dementia wanted for ‘Go All In’ initiative
The National Year of Reading 2026 ‘Go All In’ initiative is asking individuals and organisations to share experiences, projects, approaches and impacts related to reading and people living with dementia.
‘Go All In’ is a national initiative aiming to reignite a culture of reading for pleasure across the UK. It is led by the National Literacy Trust, sponsored by the Department for Education, and is seeking to reverse long-term declines in reading by engaging new audiences and building partnerships that create lasting change.
‘Go All In’ celebrates all forms of meaningful reading — from novels to recipes, song lyrics to football programmes — in digital, audio, print and graphic formats. Throughout 2026, activity is taking place in schools, workplaces, communities and the criminal justice system using reading to reduce loneliness, boost wellbeing and strengthen community connection, including for people with dementia.
