Integrated care

Better ways to integrate primary and community care will be explored by a House of Lords committee, which has issued a call for evidence on the challenges facing the sector and the barriers to integration.

Chaired by Baroness Pitkeathley, the committee will look at existing models of integration, including the role of primary care networks and integrated care systems.

“People are living longer with multiple and complex conditions, which has led to calls for a more integrated approach in delivering services that meet the needs of a changing population,” Baroness Pitkeathley said.  “Community care in particular has been overlooked and undervalued.” The deadline for evidence submissions is 17 April and the report is expected in November.
