ITV Granada feature care home technology supporting people with dementia
ITV Granada has aired a news feature to highlight how technology is supporting people with dementia at Parkhaven Trust’s The Beeches.
The Beeches uses acoustic monitoring so staff can be aware of any movement in a resident’s room and to monitor a resident’s breathing. Circadian lighting is also used throughout the home which dims at night to help residents sleep.
As part of the news feature, Ian Hill, husband of Ann who has been a resident at The Beeches for 7 months, spoke about how the technology being used gives him peace of mind.
