Thrive open Sanctuary Garden in London
Thrive, the gardening for health charity, has opened a new Sanctuary Garden in Battersea Park, London.
The garden has been designed to provide a safe, accessible space for people living with a range of health conditions and disabilities, including those with dementia and their carers. It includes multi-level raised planting areas, sensory plants as part of a wide range of flowers, foliage, herbs and vegetables, sheltered seating areas that enable table-top activity, and is navigated via wide and continuous pathways.
Ben Thomas, Chief Executive Officer of Thrive, says:
“At Thrive we support people to live well through gardening. The Sanctuary Garden is enabling us to support more people to improve their health and wellbeing through spending time in nature, undertaking meaningful gardening activities and joining a positive community.”
