‘Magical Musical Memories’ interactive book published by Dormy Care Communities

‘Magical Musical Memories’, an interactive book containing the musical memories of the people living in Dormy Care Communities care homes in Dorset, Hampshire, Wales and Herefordshire, has been published.

The book documents the special memories, stories and anecdotes of residents that relate to a particular song or piece of music and includes QR codes to enable the reader to listen to the music on YouTube. The book features everything from Mozart to Queen, Beethoven to Tom Jones.

Helen Davies-Parsons, Chief Executive of Dormy Care Communities, says:

“We are thrilled to have been able to produce this book showcasing the musical memories of the ladies and gentlemen in our care communities. From the songs that we danced to at our first school dance, to the albums that became the soundtrack of our lives, each memory is a testament to the ways in which music has shaped who we are and the moments that have defined us. Music has the unique ability to transport us back to a specific time and place, stirring up memories that we may have long forgotten and through the recollections of these wonderful people, these memories will now live on forever.”

The books are being sold for £15 each, with a donation from the sales going to charities that are local to the care homes involved. You can purchase a copy by phoning one of the homes listed below and paying by card over the phone. Your purchase will then be posted out to you.
