Outstanding care recognised

Royal Star & Garter in Solihull has been recognised for its “outstanding person-centred dementia care”.

The Home received the Level 1 Accreditation from Meaningful Care Matters (MCM) following an audit which found the quality of life experienced by residents was at the highest level, with care provided by engaged and loving staff who care deeply for veterans while bringing joy and meaning to every day and at every opportunity.

Home Manager Cheryl Harbourne bought butterfly Christmas tree decorations to congratulate staff. She said: “I’m delighted for them. We are always looking at what we can do better and how we can improve, and we will continue to do so.”

Royal Star & Garter’s Director of Care, Pauline Shaw, said: “This is a really impressive achievement, and credit goes to Cheryl and the staff. It shows that quality person-centred care is embedded in the team.”
